Cycling Training

The sessions run all year round on Wednesday evenings. From April to September sessions are based at Carver Barracks, Wimbish. They run from 6.00-7.30pm and use the traffic free runways at the airfield. Individual time trials and group riding races are held each week and progress is monitored over the summer months. These sessions are open to anyone with a roadworthy bike.

Over the winter from October to March the dark evenings mean I run the cycling as turbo sessions in Arkesden Village Hall and simultaneously on-line via zoom. The sessions run from 6.30-7.30pm and are based on detailed session plans aimed at improving power and endurance. An example of a turbo session is below.

Session Times - Wednesday 6pm - 7:30pm (Summer) or 6:30pm - 7:30pm (Winter)
Price - £5 per person

"Craig's cycling training at Carver Barracks has progressed my knowledge about pacing, drafting skills and cornering. There is a wide range of age and abilities, yet the way the sessions are constructed keeps it interesting and fun for everyone and weekly results let you see your improvements throughout the season. Overall, it's a great way to push yourself on the bike and be sociable too".

Lem, Arkesden
